If you're like me, there's just no substitute for big, fully-horn-loaded speakers. If you want to recreate the sound of a jazz quartet or a symphony orchestra in your living room, the combination of tubes and horns just can't be beat! There's a certain "live" sound that comes from this combination, and nothing puts forth the "life" of the music better.
Who am I?
I'm a lifelong Klipschophile who is in the process of turning a serious hobby
of restoring Klipschorn loudspeakers into a business. After 22 years
of building custom homes here in Maine, I'm burned out! A change of
career is most welcomed at this point. The unexpected positive response
to my V-Trac horn upgrade is what is driving all this. Part luck, but mostly a
keen focus on what I wanted my own Khorns to sound like is what prompted the total
upgrade package in my speakers. I'm fortunate that what I've built for
myself to enjoy, others like just as well, and perhaps even more! So here
I go, into a new business venture. I will keep my restoration projects
going, as I have done since 2001, when I restored my first pair of Khorns.
As I expand my business, I will offer many choices for the Khorn owner to upgrade the
sound of this wonderful original speaker. I intend to make purchasing
these upgrades a simple, positive experience with one-stop shopping and attentive,
one on one service from me. Where the business goes from there,
who knows? I have lots of ideas for new speaker designs, but the next
step will probably be a complete new cornerhorn speaker based on the Klipsch
Khorn design, including a fully enclosed bass horn cabinet, along with a few
other little improvements to the Khorn bass bin design. Of course
these new speakers will have all the component upgrades built in.
I have finally decided on a new company name, "Volti Audio", and a new website is in
the works. I will be starting an email newsletter as well. So,
if you've read down this far, I appreciate it, and please keep your ears open for future
developments.
